Nc Vs Nw Mac Concealer

broken image

The hunt for the perfect concealer is almost as hard as the hunt for the perfect foundation. I have quite dark circles and find it very difficult to get anything to cover them. In the last few weeks they seem to be getting worse and all my usual go to concealers were just not able to cover them. Next up on my list to try was Mac Pro Longwear concealer.

Just like with the Mac foundations, this concealer comes in NC and NW shades. I normally wear NC 25 foundation but as I like my concealer to be a little lighter under my eyes, I went for an NC 20. I use the NC 15 when I want a real highlighted look. It is worth taking a trip into Mac to get matched up, rather than chancing your arm with a colour online.

The concealer itself comes in a small little glass tube with a pump on the top. It is easy to pump out and if you use small little taps on the top of the pump, only small amounts will disperse from the tube at a time, meaning no waste.

This concealer gives really good coverage under the eyes. It gets rid of the rotten blue colour from dark circles and more or less hides them completely. I sometimes use it with Bobbi Brown corrector to make sure that there isn't a sign of anything at all under my eyes.

When applying it I place it in dots around my eyes and then pat it in with my Sigma P86 precision tapered brush. It is important to pat it in here and not keep sweeping from side to side, as you are just dragging the product around if you do that. I blend it down into a triangle under my eye as this gives the best results. I finish off by patting it gently around my eyes to make sure it is really blended in.

While this concealer lasts for most of the day without needed to retouch. I do find that it has a tendency to move and crease, so setting is an absolute must. If it does crease, I just run my ring finger lightly under my eye, it will reset the concealer again.

Is this a holy grail concealer? I am saying yes and no. It is seriously good and many people swear by it, but at the moment I feel that an even more amazing concealer is out there for me. The grass is always greener and all that. Will I buy it again when it runs out? Yes, absolutely. s I really like the coverage it gives and I would put it up their with my top concealers.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (NC30) MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (NC30); unblended (L) and blended (R) I am amazed every time at how good it makes my under eye area looks. Not only does it brighten, it also smooths out fine lines to give an illusion of youthful and flawless skin. NW is for warmer skin tones (hence the 'W'), and NC is for cooler skin tones (hence the 'C'). If you are unsure what specific color, you want (NC25, NW30, etc.) you can go to a local MAC store, or MAC counter (Macy's, Bloomingdales, etc.) and a MA (MAC artist) would be glad to help you find the right shade:). Thrifty Tuesday: Max Factor Facefinity all day primer

How many of you use a primer? It is a step many people skip, but to me it is one of the most important, if not the most important step in your makeup routine. The key to beautiful looking skin is good preparation and a primer plays a key role in that. There are so many benefits to using a primer. For example. no matter how small our pores are, liquid foundation seems to always makes them even more visible. Sometimes it is like pores have their own flashing lights to pull attention to them. Using a primer stops this, by sealing up the pores and allowing the foundation to glide on…
