Mac Studio Fix Fluid Nc25 Vs Nc30

broken image

EDIT: Yes, I know my blending is terrible! I cringe at my contour every time I watch this!! I am writing this a year later and have learnt so much more about ma. For example there is an NC27 or an NW18 in Studio Fix Fluid. These colours don't have quite as strong an undertone as those that end in 5 or 0. These odd numbers have more of a neutral undertone. So an NC27 is not as yellow as an NC25 but it is a little bit darker. Conversely there are also plain C's and plain N's.

If you're oily-skinned but prefer a liquid foundation, you can go for Studio Fix Fluid (P1,900) and just set it with a finishing powder like Mineralize Skinfinish Natural (P1,800). If you have dry skin and want to keep things matte, Studio Fix Sculpt Foundation (P2,150) is a gel-type formula that dries to a powder finish. MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation – NC30MAC Studio Fix Fluid – NC35
Studio Sculpt – This is my go to foundation during spring and summertime. It is a gel formula and has a lighter consistency than the Studio Fix Fluid. While it does apply lighter, this foundation still provides medium to buildable coverage and depending on how it is applied I would even go as far as to say that it can provide fairly high coverage. My favourite thing about this foundation is the dewy finish that it provides – perfect for that ‘summer glow'. I like to apply it with the Real Techniques Stippling Brushas I find this provides a flawless, natural looking finish. I would definitely recommend this foundation for dryer skin as it is very moisturising. I personally have normal to combination skin and I find that I do need to powder a couple of times throughout the day when wearing this foundation in order to avoid my glow turning into shine, however I don't mind doing so as it takes two seconds and I love the finish that Studio Sculpt creates. I've found that this foundation runs slightly darker than the Studio Fix Fluid and I therefore use one shade lighter (NC30 instead of NC35) however this is still ever so slightly darker than the Fix Fluid – another shade down and it's too light for me so I wear this when I have a tan. There definitely doesn't seem to be as much variation in colour as there is with the Studio Fix, but all in all I love this foundation. I set it using MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Naturalin Medium Dark, this foundation is SPF 15 and retails at £25.
Studio Fix Fluid – I love this for the colder months when my skin requires a higher coverage. This is an oil free foundation and is therefore great for oily skin. I also set this using MAC's Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, however once it's set I'm good to go for the whole day - no need to powder later on! On my skin (normal to combination) this foundation applies matte and throughout the day becomes slightly dewy around my T-Zone, but certainly not shiny. Studio Fix is a liquid formula and is great for those who prefer a full coverage foundation, however I have found that it can become slightly cakey around spots. For this reason, although I would definitely recommend this foundation for oily skin – I'd be sure to get a sample from MAC before buying if you are particularly prone to flare ups, as when my skin isn't looking its best I find that this foundation can bring attention to what I'm trying to hide rather than concealing it. I apply this with a standard foundation brush and it goes on a treat, I use the shade NC35. As with the Studio Sculpt, Studio Fix Fluid is also SPF 15 and retails at £21.50 however if it is your first time buying this foundation you will also require a pump unless you'd prefer to pour some onto your hand before applying, however doing so could be messy as you'd have to open the bottle everytime you do this. The pump costs £4 and is reusable.

Choosing a foundation can be really daunting, but it's a key part to our makeup and can make or break a flawless face so it's important to get it right. Many clients ask me about the labelling of MAC foundations as they don't understand what NC and NW means and how to colour match themselves.

In colour theory, we're taught that cool undertones are reds, pinks and blues and that warm undertones are yellow, peaches and golds. However, in MAC labelling, the undertones are the opposite. Transfer to mac or pc.

NC: Neutral Cool – golden beige undertones.

NW: Word for mac temporary file location. Neutral Warm – red, pink or blue undertones.

N: Neutral – beige undertones.

Virtual desktop for mac free download. C: Cool – Yellow, golden or olive undertones

Avid pro tools mac crack. So a person with yellow, peach or golden undertones would be suited well to an NC foundation whereas a person with red, pink or blue undertones would be better suited to an NW foundation. A person with a beige undertone would be perfectly suited to an N foundation.

You might have heard that some ladies use an NC foundation but have been given an NW concealer, this is because the pink undertone of an NW concealer helps to cancel out dark green under eye circles. For blue tinged under eye circles, you could cancel them out with an NC concealer.

My client Nina has warm undertones (reds in MAC terms) with cool under eye circles (yellow). I used MAC Studio Fix in NC20 over her face to even out and correct the redness and NW10 concealer to correct the dark circles

The number that follows each NC, NW, N or C is simply the colour of each foundation. Sharon, from Sharonthemakeupartist.com explains this perfectly:

Use ntfs on mac. Conversely there are also plain C's and plain N's. These have a stronger yellow or pink undertone than their NC/NW counterparts. Very few of the foundations in the range now have these strong undertones, it's mostly the old school formulas like Face and Body, or Studio Fix Powder.'

The shade I wear myself is NC15 – this is much more flattering to my skin tone and helps to cancel out any unwanted redness over my cheek area. This is my personal preference too and I find that the NC blends seamlessly into my skin. I find that with the majority of my clients, an NC foundation always looks better and evens the skin tone beautifully.

The most important thing is to make sure that your foundation matches with your chest and looks natural. If you are still struggling, don't be afraid to ask a counter makeup artist for advice and a colour match. Makeup is all about having fun so there is no wrong or right way to wear your foundation, as long as you have a good match and avoid the dreaded ‘tideline' around the neck, you're good to go!
